Day 2: Jeep ride to Shegli and trek to Miyali Thach | 10,350 feet | 4 hours.
The day starts early with a jeep ride to Shegli village followed by a four hours trek to Miyali Thach. The initial part of the trek goes through some dense forest of Pine, Fir and Chestnut trees. The trail is well marked and involves a gradual climb for the first one and half hours. Once we complete the forest patch the views of Pir Panjal range with the mighty peaks of Indrasan and Deo Tibba come up. The views are unique and rare, as there are only a few treks where you can spot all the famous peaks in one single panorama. The trail to Miyali Thach is a moderate steep climb for around 2 hours from here, until you reach a flat green meadow which can be used to camp. Overnight stay at Miyali Thach.
Day 3: Trek to Rani Sui Lake | 12,430 feet | 5 hours.
It takes around 4-5 hours to reach the lake from Miyali Thach. The trek does not involve much gradient and runs over a vast stretch of green meadows. At 12,430 feet, the lake presents a fine example of tarn. The lake offers a 360 degree panoramic view of the entire Pir Panjal Range, Dhauladhar range and Manalsu glacier. The lake remains carpeted with soft grass with beautiful alpine flowers studded over them from the month of June to September and remains snow bound for the rest of the year. With the changing landscapes of mountains and meadows, this trek is a paradise for photographers. Make sure that you maintain proper hygiene and cleanliness as the lake is considered to be holy for religious reasons.
Overnight stay in tents near Rani Sui Lake.
Day 4: Trek to Lama Dugh from Rani Sui Lake via Khan Pari Tibba| 6 hours
Start the day’s trek over the ridgeline leading towards Khan Pari Tibba. The trek almost continues on the same altitude with just a few short climbs towards the end. It takes a couple of hours to reach the peak followed by descent towards Lama Dugh.
The descent from the pass towards Lamadugh [9,900 feet] is gradual in the start and becomes steep an hour before reaching the camp. The place is a beautiful green meadow with a hut, meant for the forest guard, who seldom visits the place. There is also a clean water source available just next to the hut. The camp is surrounded by a dense forest of Birch, Oak, Maple and Spruce trees. Overnight stay at Lama Dugh.
Day 5: Descend to Manali and departure.| 6,500 feet | 4 hours
The descent route from Lama Dugh to Manali goes through a dense forest but the trail is well marked. There are no water sources available in this part so make your reserve well at Lamadugh.Continue the descent until we reach Hidimba Temple in Manali. Departure by 5 PM.
